Chiropractic adjustment allow them to develop, grow and adapt to their environment in a healthy way. Many common childhood conditions improve with chiropractic care; including allergies, asthma, colic and other digestive problems, and ear infections.
Tools, Techniques and Toys
Children may be afraid when they first come to our office, especially if their previous medical appointments involved needles. If the parent is getting adjusted, Dr. Miller will allow them to ‘help’ her with the adjustment. She may also demonstrate the adjustment on a stuffed animal. During the adjustment, she explains everything she’s going to do in advance.
Dr. Miller uses Pediatric Diversified technique on children. She uses smaller parts of her body to adjust small areas on your child. This technique is gentler and uses less force. Sustained contact, aka hold it until it moves, is another gentle technique with minimal force. Most adjustment on a baby are done with no more pressure than you apply to your eye. She may also use the Activator® tool, known as the ‘tickle machine’, in our office.
